Durante la semana del arte en febrero 2025 en méxico presentamos estos objetos que parte de estas premisas: MÁS QUE SIMPLES OBJETOS FUNCIONALES, ESTAS PIEZAS SON UNA EXPLORACIÓN DE FORMAS, MATERIALES Y TEXTURAS QUE DESAFÍAN LA IDEA CONVENCIONAL DE MOBILIARIO. A TRAVÉS DE LA EXPERIMENTACIÓN, CADA OBRA ENCUENTRA SU PROPIA IDENTIDAD, MOVIÉNDOSE ENTRE LO ESCULTÓRICO Y LO UTILITARIO, ENTRE LA ESTRUCTURA Y LA EXPRESIÓN.

LAS FORMAS DE ESTOS OBJETOS NACEN DE MIS RECUERDOS, DE MEMORIAS QUE ME DIVIERTEN Y ME INSPIRAN. HAY GUIÑOS A LO INFANTIL, A LA CURIOSIDAD DE DESCUBRIR NUEVAS TEXTURAS Y A ESE IMPULSO DE JUGAR CON LO INESPERADO. ME GUSTA IMAGINAR LOS OBJETOS COMO PEQUEÑAS AVENTURAS EN EL ESPACIO, DONDE LO COTIDIANO SE TRANSFORMA EN ALGO SORPRENDENTE.

EL TÍTULO “ESTO NO ES UN MUEBLE” INVITA A CUESTIONAR LA LÍNEA QUE SEPARA EL DISEÑO DEL ARTE. ¿DEBE UN OBJETO JUSTIFICAR SU EXISTENCIA A TRAVÉS DE SU FUNCIÓN? ¿O PUEDE SIMPLEMENTE HABITAR EL ESPACIO, PROVOCANDO SENSACIONES Y DIÁLOGOS VISUALES?

EN ESTE PROYECTO, LA EXPERIMENTACIÓN ES EL PUNTO DE PARTIDA Y LA SORPRESA, EL RESULTADO. AQUÍ, LA FUNCIÓN ES FLEXIBLE, LA FORMA ES PROTAGONISTA Y CADA PIEZA ES UNA INVITACIÓN A IMAGINAR NUEVOS SIGNIFICADOS DENTRO DEL ENTORNO QUE NOS RODEA.

More than just functional objects, these pieces are an exploration of shapes, materials, and textures that challenge the conventional idea of furniture. Through experimentation, each piece finds its own identity, moving between the sculptural and the utilitarian, between structure and expression.

The forms of these objects are inspired by my memories—fragments of moments that bring me joy and spark my creativity. There are hints of childhood, a curiosity for discovering new textures, and a playful approach to the unexpected. I like to imagine objects as small adventures in space, where the ordinary transforms into something surprising.

The title “This Is Not a Piece of Furniture” invites us to question the boundary between design and art. Must an object justify its existence through function? Or can it simply inhabit space, evoking sensations and visual dialogues?

In this project, experimentation is the starting point, and surprise is the result. Here, function is flexible, form takes center stage, and each piece is an invitation to imagine new meanings within the spaces around us.
